ADULT MINISTRIES
SUNDAY MORNING SMALL GROUPS
Grace Baptist Church offers three different Adult Sunday Morning Small Groups. Each group meets at 9:45am.
BEREANS
Bereans is a Sunday morning Small Group gathering of Believers of all ages and backgrounds who want to openly discuss and learn how God’s Word impacts our daily lives. Acts 17 records Paul leaving Thessalonica and traveling to the nearby town of Berea: “11 Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.” (Acts 17:11).
We are inspired by this early group of Believers to search the Scriptures together and experience the authentic transformation of sanctification that occurs with the renewing of our minds through the power of the Holy Spirit (cf. Rom. 12:1-2). We often use Christian books and video series as a catalyst for our Bible study and discussions.
We meet at 9:45am every Sunday in the Sanctuary.
LOGOS
The Greek word “Logos” means the Word. John 1:1 says “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Jesus is the Word, the “Logos”. John 1:14 states “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
The focus of the Logos class is on studying the Scriptures and applying the truth of God’s Word to our daily lives.
Currently the class is studying the Lifeway series through the Bible. Both the New and Old Testaments are studied, alternating quarters.
FIRMLY ROOTED
Firmly Rooted meets Sunday mornings and is geared toward young adults from 18 to early 30s. Maybe you are fresh out of high school, starting a career, or are just figuring out marriage and kids; we have a place for you. In class you can expect to study scripture verse by verse, while having great edifying discussions. We strive to lift each other up in prayer and build each other up in love.
Join us as we seek to live our lives firmly rooted in God and His Word!
WEDNESDAY NIGHT SMALL GROUPS
Grace Baptist Chruch offers two differeant opportunities for adults to participate in mid-week Bible Study.
SOJOURNERS
Sojourners is a Wednesday evening Bible Study Group made up of all ages, sexes, and spiritual maturity levels. We realize that the Christian walk is not a sprint, but a marathon. Therefore, we are committed to following Jesus together on a life-long journey of Bible study, prayer, and worship: “13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.” (Eph. 4:13).
This year the class is studying religions of the world and comparing them to the truth of Christianity.
Because so many families, both from our church and our community, attend our Free Fellowship Meal at 5pm and our children’s AWANA Ministry at 6:00pm we meet at 6:15pm on Wednesday nights in our Fellowship Hall.
AWANA MAMAS
AWANA Mamas is a class for women of all ages. The women meet weekly on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm to encourage each other in prayer and time in the Word.
This year the class will read through and discuss the book “Consider the Lilies: Finding Perfect Peace in the Character of God” by Jonny Ardavanis. This study will point the reader toward dwelling on God’s character as the pathway to peace.
