Somehow, someway, every marriage will become a struggle.

If you want to enjoy a beautiful, life-long relationship, you will need more than romance. You will need something deeper than shared interests and mutual attraction. According to best-selling author and marriage expert Dr. Paul David Tripp, you need realistic expectations, and you need radical commitments. Most importantly, you need grace.

In this life-changing marriage event, Dr. Tripp will share fresh insight and new application. Even if you’ve heard Dr. Tripp teach on marriage before, this will be fresh for your ears and refreshing for your soul!

Pastor’s Notes: “Relationships”

I hope and pray that everyone enjoyed our New Year’s series on the transformation of our church in 2018 from just a family of God, to a Community IN Christ!  It’s not a coincidence that unity is a part of the word community, because one cannot exist without the other.  This is why we learned that a Community built on the unity of the Holy Spirit naturally becomes a good steward of God’s resources, a protector of the sacredness of all human life, and faithful sharers and servers of one another, in Christ’s name.

Beginning this Sunday, we are going to build on this message of Community, with a series from John’s Gospel, entitled “Relationships”.  We are going to pick up right where we left off before Christmas, in chapter 15, with Jesus still speaking to His disciples in the upper room on the night of His betrayal.  He is lovingly preparing them for the long spiritual road ahead of building His church.  And part of that preparation is teaching them how to have right relationships.

The life and health of a church is dependent on its individual members’ abilities to have right relationships with:

  • God the Father
  • God the Son
  • One Another
  • The World
  • God the Holy Spirit

As our Community continues to grow in size and diversity, it is imperative that we understand Jesus’ teachings and apply them to our own personal lives.  Right relationship with God and with each other is the bedrock of the Bible’s message.  Remember Jesus’ answer when they asked Him what was the greatest commandment: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.” (Matt 22:37-40)

So, please join us and invite your friends, family, and even strangers to explore, all this month, Jesus’ teachings on “Relationships“.
